About Us
For nearly half a century, Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club has been an elegant tradition among the elite clubs of South Florida. Today, it remains one of the few private, by-invitation-only, clubs in the area that is overseen by its members.
On your first visit, you will sense the friendly, relaxed atmosphere that we work very hard to maintain at all times. You’ll get white glove service when appropriate, but we’re also proud of not taking ourselves too seriously. Our philosophy is, after all, a club should first and foremost be fun for the entire family
We truly believe that Royal Palm represents a unique alternative in country clubs in this region. It starts with our Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course but goes much further than that.
Originally designed by Robert Trent Jones and opened in 1959, the course accepted additional changes under the supervision of Joe Lee. In 2002 it underwent its most dramatic change to date – a complete facelift – as Jack Nicklaus redesigned the entire golf course. Forward tees play just under 5,000 yards and championship tees play just over 7,000 yards.
Blue lakes and refreshing water features, including marshy wetlands filled with aquatic plants, strategically placed bunkers and smaller, well-protected greens aren’t the only challenges awaiting the golfer. Large waste areas have been carved between several holes, creating a new dimension of risk and adding to the visual relief of the emerald green fairways.
“The redesign of Royal Palm was very rewarding. We were able to create an entirely new course that offers challenge for all levels of play. The 7,003 yards from the back tees will test any professional or amateur.” Jack Nicklaus
Along with the redesigned golf course, a new 30,000+ square-foot golf clubhouse was completed in early 2004. It houses the golf pro shop, cart storage and state-of-the-art ladies’ and men’s locker rooms. Members enjoy expansive golf course views from the second floor dining room, terraces, lounge and private dining room.
